Arusha Police Netball Team boasts winning crown in National Championships League 2023

As the National Champions First Division Netball League for the mainland Tanzania takes off next week, the Police Arusha netball squad, the only team representing the Region, brags to win the tourney.

Members of the Arusha Police Netball team who have been practicing at Sheikh Amri Abeid Stadium here, say they are well prepared for the competitions as they set off to Dar-es-salaam for the feat.

The Police Arusha Netball Team’s Coach, Emerenciana Silas boasted here that her squad is fully prepared to return with victory from the Champions League and scale up status onto the National Premier League in the process.

Tanzania’s National Champions First Division Netball League commences from 20 June 2023, in Dar-Es-salaam City.

The Netball League featuring more than 20 teams from many of the mainland regions, runs for nine days and climaxes on 29 June 2023.

“We have outfitted 11 netballers and our delegation to Dar will comprise 15 personnel,” explained Emerenciana during the occasion to receive sets of sports kit, mostly uniforms donated by the Coast Liner Bus Company, which has driven in to assist the Police Arusha Netball team.

Zohra Ally is the Director of Coast Liner Bus Company who said that her firm has decided to support sporting activities in the country, this time starting with netball but intending to extend their back-ups to other games in future.

“At Coast Liner we like to give back to the community, therefore when the Police Arusha netball team requested our assistance we responded by donating the full sporting kits to the Regional team,” added Zohra Ally.

The Assistant Commissioner of Police, Salvas Makweli who received the donation from Coast Liner also used the occasion to appeal to other firms and members of the community to continue supporting the netball team which now represents the region.
