Who is the Wealthiest woman in East Africa?

Who is currently the Richest lady in East Africa?

She apparently comes from, Kenya.

Mama Ngina Kenyatta has been listed among the wealthiest ladies on the African Continent.

She is worth USD 600 Million as of now, according to Forbes latest rankings.

Not surprising, having been the wife of Kenya’s first Prime Minister and the Country’s First President, Mzee Jomo Kenyatta and later on a mother to the fourth President of Kenya, Uhuru, Ngina has all the reason to own fat bank balances.

Mama Ngina is involved in real estate business, hospitality industry, construction and banking.

Ngina may be the wealthiest woman in East Africa, but she is ranked at number six on the continent.

Forbes has compiled the list of the ten top richest women on the African Continent so far in 2023.

Topping the bill is Folorunso Alakija, the lady from Nigeria who is worth USD 1 Billion at the moment.

Folorunso is a businesswoman and philanthropist, investing in the fashion, oil, real estate and printing industries.

Ms Alakija is the Group Managing Director of The Rose of Sharon Group and Africa’s richest woman.

Apparently, all the top five wealthiest ladies on the list come from Nigeria.

In fact, the list is dominated by Nigerians and South Africans.

There are five Nigerians, Four South Africans and One Kenyan.

In the second position there is Hajia Bola Shagaya, valued at USD 950 Million, in the second position.

Shagaya is the Chief Executive of the Bolmus Group International, a conglomerate with holdings in real estate, oil and gas, banking and photography.

Ranked third is another Nigerian, Daisy Danjuma, a politician and businesswoman said to be worth USD 900 Million.

Here now is the remaining list of richest women on the African Continent so far in 2023.

As it happens, Forbes no longer regards Isabel Dos Santos as the wealthiest woman in Africa.

Isabel was stripped from the title due to the source of her wealth, her international legal battle over her assets and the fact that she has been losing some of her assets.

Just as Kenya produces the richest woman in East Africa, Tanzania boasts the wealthiest man in the region.
