Idi Amin’s son conducts own poll which declares his father to be more popular than President Museveni

Hussein Lumumba Amin, the son of the former Ugandan Leader, Idi Amin who was ousted in 1979 has conducted an online popularity poll in which his father emerged the ‘Greatest Uganda’s Leader of All Time.’

In the ballot, Idi Amin was pitted against President Yoweri Kaguta Museveni and the other former Ugandan leader, Apollo Milton Obote.

The X poll was carried out between July 27 and 28, 2023.

The question was simple: “Who is Uganda’s Greatest Leader of All Time?”

As far as Lumumba is concerned his father, Idi Amin won the polls with 62 Percent.

The late Amin reportedly beat Museveni, who managed 24 percent of the votes and Obote getting a measly 13 Percent.

Lumumba Hussein Amin explains how his late father became the poll winner.

“When there is no way to pay bribes, or to engage in ballot stuffing, or transporting voters, or by simply declaring false results concocted in secret tally centers, those two can’t win,” he writes on his Facebook page.

Hussein Lumumba Amin took time to photoshop this cover of the TIME Magazine to drive his point home

“Even after 50 years of the most malicious slander, the most colloquial and invective insults, the wildest accusations, the most poisonous propaganda, and the most heinous disinformation against His Excellency President Idi Amin Dada, the people of Uganda know their leader,” Lumumba maintains.

He says Ugandana have been passing the ‘truth,’ from father to son, from mother to daughter, from grandparent to grandchildren, from generation to generation.

“And they know that he had a big heart for his country and genuine big hopes for the people of Uganda in particular and the people of Africa in general.”

Lumumba accuses the ‘White supremacist propagandists overseas, and their puppets in Africa,’ who he claims, have been trying to slander Idi Amin’s legacy for years but with little, if any, success.

“They lied to themselves and to the world that he wasn’t popular, and then started believing their own lies. In reality, the late Pan-African leader simply loved his country, his continent, and its peoples … And they love him back!”

Defending the results against a number of negative responses from aggravated followers, Lumumba claims that his latest poll, is not the only ballot that has proven the popularity of Idi Amin among Ugandans.

“This is not the first time a Twitter poll has come out with this same result. Several other ballot results have been published before, and where people, especially those abroad, were shocked to see this result from the people of Uganda themselves.”

For the footnote, Lumumba describes his late father as “His Excellency Ssalongo AL Hajji Doctor, Field Marshal President Idi Amin Dada VC, DSO, MC, CBE, Greatest Of All Time (GOAT).
