Arusha schedules 2023 Regional Football League for September

Arusha is organizing this season’s regional football league, a sporting event being calendared from September 3, 2023 to sometimes in February 2024.

A total of 18 soccer teams have confirmed their participation in the Arusha Regional League to be staged in all seven districts of the precinct on home-and-away basis.

The Sporting Competition Committee Secretary, Samuel Mpenzu stated here that they have already held meetings with participating clubs reminding them that registration windows are open and will be closed on the last day of August, 2023.

According to the Arusha Regional Football Association (ARFA) reveals that the teams will be categorized in three different groups.

Each category is supposed to produce two winning clubs that are to be entered into the top-six finals from which the overall regional victor is to be produced.

Fresh after emerging the overall winner in the just ended Mega Arusha Super Cup, the Nyota Football Club from Sinoni, is among the teams already warming up for the Regional League, next September.

Other teams include the Arusha City FC, the Monduli Coffee and 16 soccer clubs from around the region.

As per the directives of the Tanzania Football Federation, the Arusha Regional League has been ordered that it should be youth focused and that all players must be of the age of 20 years and below.

Meanwhile, before the Regional League starts, Arusha will be hosting the curtain raising ‘Ngao ya Jamii,’ (Community Shield) soccer cup to be played on the 26th of August 2023.

The forthcoming Ngao ya Jamii soccer cup event pits the defending regional champions, Arusha City Football Club against the Monduli Coffee FC.

Monduli Coffee team on the other hand, is the defending Football Association Champions.
