The 2022 instalment of the African Muzik Magazine Awards is bestowing the annual leadership award to President Samia Suluhu Hassan of Tanzania.

“This year’s leadership award from African Muzik Magazine Awards (AFRIMMA) 2022 goes to the Tanzanian Head of State, President Samia Suluhu Hassan,” goes the official announcement.

As it happens, every year, AFRIMMA honours outstanding leaders who have distinguished themselves by making a massive impact on their subjects.

And according to the organizers, the President of Tanzania, Samia Suluhu Hassan has blazed a trail in less than two years of being at the helm of government thus deserving the accolade.

“She has set an example in leadership for others to follow and notably impacted the entertainment scene in Tanzania. From restoring the defunct Tanzania Music Awards to initiating the revamp of the copyright management system that provides artists with more economic empowerment, President Samia Suluhu Hassan has left an indelible mark on the history of Tanzania.”

In addition to that, as far as AFRIMMA is concerned, Samia Suluhu’s decision to spend eight days out of office to record the documentary travel feature, the ‘Royal Tour,’ also merits this special award for her.
