Russian President, Vladimir Putin, Contacts Tanzania’s Head of State, Samia Suluhu

Russian President, Vladimir Putin, still has time in-between his country’s strife against Ukraine to jot down a few lines in a letter which he recently dispatched to the Tanzanian State House of Dodoma.

The Moscow Headman wrote and sent an official letter to the Tanzania Head of State, Samia Suluhu Hassan, saluting the latter for the fact that her country has managed to strike an important milestone of two-tier Union.

Putin’s presidential dispatch from Kremlin and addressed to the Dodoma State House of Tanzania, lauds both the country and its current President, Samia Suluhu Hassan for maintaining the Union which gave birth to Tanzania.

It was made public through the Russian Embassy in Dar-es-salaam.

The Union between a country then known as Tanganyika and the Islands of Zanzibar, hatched in 1964 would eventually result into the present day, United Republic of Tanzania.

Founding figures behind the Mainland and Isles Union, Mwalimu Julius Nyerere, then President of Tanganyika and Abeid Amani Karume the founding President of Zanzibar are both dead.

Apart from lauding the Union, Putin reminds that the traditionally friendly relations that Tanzania has with Russia should also be maintained for the benefit of the entire African Continent.
