Who is running President Museveni’s Twitter Account? His son wants them fired for revealing ‘classified’ information

General Muhoozi Kainerugaba, the son of Uganda’s President, Yoweri Kaguta Museveni wants the people who manage his father’s social media accounts be sent packing.

“The People who are in-charge of my father’s social media accounts should be fired,” the Tanzanian born Genral Kainerugaba tweets.

But why?

Because according to General Kainerugaba, his father’s twitter account is currently publicising something which he feels to be ‘Classified Information!’ which shouldn’t have been revealed on social media.

President Museveni Boasts to have attacked terrorists with permission from DR Congo

President Yoweri Museveni tweets that the Ugandan Airforce has blitzed down serious attacks against Allied Democratic Forces (ADF) camps in the Democratic Republic of Congo.

According to President Museveni twitter, the attack was made possible by permission from the DRC Government.

Grained black and white video clips of the attack illustrate Museveni’s tweets

The Ugandan People Defence Force have thus destroyed “a big terrorist camp of ADF “

“This location is beyond the limit of exploitation that we had agreed with Congo Government that runs Beni-Mbau junction-Eoingeti-Komanda-Kasindi-Beni. Within the area that we have been allowed to operate, we have destroyed all the camps the reconnaissance has identified, killed a lot of terrorists, captured others and emancipated the much terrorized wananchi of the area,”

Yoweri Museveni – President of Uganda

The camp where ADF fighters had sought refuge due to hot pursuit was far away from the area of operation agreed upon by both governments.

Therefore, Uganda had to seek permission from their counterparts in DRC before carrying out the latest airstrikes.

“In all this, we have worked with the brother Congolese army, the Armed Forces of the Democratic Republic of the Congo (FARDC). “

Museveni maintains that having been defeated in the original hideouts, ADF rebels had to run far away to areas which are not covered by the agreement between the Ugandan government and their Congolese counterparts.

He however warned that the “terrorists” will be followed wherever they go to get “their deserved reward.”

“The ignorant terrorists do not know that within just minutes-not hours- we can reach with deadly fire, many areas, far beyond the line of the limit of exploitation.”

“Wherever they go, we shall reach them as long as the Congo government allows us to operate with them.”

But General Kairugaba is not impressed by the Tweets on his Father’s Handle

Muhoozi takes time to reveal the secret behind President Museveni’s Twitter account.

Apparently, somebody else is running the social media show on his behalf.

General Kainerugaba who also loves to tweet, apparently is now among the people with his father’s twitter account password.

And he doesn’t like the ones who have the password or their tweets.

Especially the recent one about an airstrike on ADF rebels’ bases in DR Congo.

Who are the ADF?

The Allied Democratic Forces (ADF) is an Islamist rebel group in Uganda and the Democratic Republic of the Congo (DRC), considered a terrorist organisation by the Ugandan government.

ADF was formed out of remnants of the National Army for the Liberation of Uganda (NALU).

Jamilu Mukulu was the group’s founding leader until a few years ago when he was captured by the Tanzanian forces.

He was then repatriated back to Uganda where he is currently facing charges related to terrorism.

About President Museveni’s Tweets

Uganda’s President defends the tweets. At least the people who post them on his behalf feel it is the right thing to do.

Museveni says the people of East Africa have the right to know what is going on.
