The premier event, headed by the BSD Chief Executive Officer, Eva Muraya, drew the attention of investors and manufacturers who are curious to know what exactly the country’s top spenders have in their checklists.

They also wanted to gather information on the type of new products they should be releasing next, the ones to keep on their conveyor belts and those to drop from their labels.

The launch was held at Windsor Golf & Country Club in sync with the property’s inaugural golf tournament attracting more than 150 participants.

According to the organizers, the move aims at showcasing the role of women in decision making whilst purchasing and consuming brands and services.

“This forum has set the pace to foster and give the emphasis on the need to appreciate how women are in essence the engine of the country’s economic and business growth.” EVa Muraya CEO BSD.

Studies conducted by the BSD group and the ‘Institut Public de Sondage d’Opinion Secteur,’ or IPSOS indicate that when women have better purchasing and decision-making power, they influence consumption trends.

IPSOS is a multinational market research and consulting firm with headquarters in Paris, France.

And their shopping lists and baskets usually include household items, clothing, childcare, consumer durables, education, financial services, food and healthcare.

The Chief Executive Officer for the Nairobi Stock Exchange, Geofrey Odundo lauded the forum saying it provides an ideal platform on strategizing how best women power can be unlocked in the region’s most dynamic and consolidated economy.

” It’s Imperative for women entrepreneurs to trade on the stock market to stimulate liquidity of their business. This helps them build on their capital base through trading and engaging on trade markets.” States Odundo the NSE CEO.

On the side events, participants and other stakeholders received gifts and goodies from the one-day golf tournament organized by the partners of Brands strategy and design group.
