It is freezing in most parts of East Africa at the moment, but from August 2025 onwards, some areas in the region are bound to get warmer, Tanzania included.
But there are high chances of ‘wetter than usual,’ conditions expected over most parts of the northern sector of the region, western Kenya, Uganda and Rwanda in August to October with drier than usual conditions expected over central to north-eastern South Sudan in August.
According to the weather forecast from the Intergovernmental Authority of Developmentās Climate Prediction and Application Center (ICPAC), the seasonal temperatures are on the other hand, expected to be warmer than usual over northern Sudan, and equatorial to southern parts of the region.

Wetter than normal conditions expected over Sudan, western Kenya, most parts of Ethiopia, Uganda, south-eastern and north-western South Sudan, Eritrea, and Djibouti,
Drier than usual conditions should be thus experienced over south-western, central to north-eastern areas of South Sudan, isolated areas in western Ethiopia, and part of coastal Kenya.
Temperature Forecast for August 2025
Warmer than usual conditions are anticipated over northern and southern areas of Sudan, central to northern South Sudan, central to southern Ethiopia, southern areas of Eritrea and central to southern Somalia.
The warmer conditions will also apply in much of Kenya, part of northern and central to south-eastern Uganda, Rwanda, Burundi and most parts of Tanzania.
Cooler than normal conditions expected over western, central to eastern Sudan, western Eritrea, southern South Sudan, northern Somalia, western and north-eastern Uganda and north-western Kenya.
