Vladimir Putin places Direct Phone call to Africa

Russian Head of State, Vladimir Putin still has time for long distance phone calls.

On Wednesday, the 9th of March 2022, President Vladimir Putin of Russia placed a direct phone call to the Senegalese President, Macky Sall, who happens to be the current Head of the African Union.

The President of Russia posted the live conversation with the African Union Head on Kremlin’s official twitter account. Unfortunately, for some reason, one gets redirected to another page, which somehow also fails to open.

It is still not known if the Russian page is also under attack or it is just some ordinary technological hiccups.

But from the ‘African Insider,’ it was reported that, President Macky Sall, among other things, said he appealed to the Russian Head of State for a ‘lasting’ ceasefire in Ukraine.

Little else has come to light from the phone call between the two leaders on that the Kremlin’s Twitter page is refusing to display the redirected window.

Last week, the African Union expressed concerned over reports of mistreatment that Africans were being subjected to in Ukraine during their attempts to flee from the country.
