A third year college student has committed suicide by hanging himself in the bathroom.
Emmaus Kajura, who was studying at the Dar-es-salaam Campus of Tumaini University College, allegedly took his own life on early Sunday Morning of June 22, 2025.
But the circumstances surrounding his reported ‘suicide’ remain mysterious, because he was last seen in jovial mood and high spirits as he greeted and joked with fellow students and friends on that fateful morning.
The Management of the Dar-es-salaam Tumaini University College (TURDACO) in the city have confirmed the incident, but without further information.
There are reports that, Kajura had already completed his studies and was temporarily working at the college’s admission department, but this is yet to be verified.
Still, the reasons behind his death or suicide as being reported have also not yet been established.
According to the people who live near the deceased, the day seems to have started very well for Emmaus Kajura before things went awry.
Young Kajura had reportedly woken up in the morning as his usual routine entailed, then went round to greet his neighbours, before telling them that he was going out to have breakfast somewhere.
According to the neighbours, Emmaus did indeed go out for the morning tea and after some time, the student returned to his abode, still looking and sounding normal.
Kajura again held some small talks with his friends and acquaintances nearby. The student was in his usual self then.
After a while Kajura left, telling the people he was conversing with that he was going inside the house to take his morning bath.
But, this would be the last time that Emmaus Kajura was seen alive.
It is not known who decided to check on him later, probably some of his friends.
However, what they discovered in the house was shocking.
The lifeless body of Emmaus Kajura was hanging from the roof in the bathroom.
The student was dead. And if it was suicide, as people believe that to be the case, then the deceased did not leave any note to explain why he resorted to the act.
The Police in Dar-es-salaam are still ‘investigating’ the case.
