Tribit Stormbox Blast 2 coming out in October 2024, this time bigger and heavier than the original
Tribit has just announced the anticipated release of the follow-up to their highly successful powerful Bluetooth speaker, the Stormbox Blast.
Tribit Stormbox Blast 2 is scheduled for October shipment, according to the teaser from Tribit’s website.
The original Tribit Stormbox Blast was as successful in Tanzania as it was elsewhere around the globe, becoming the portable speaker of choice, beating the Soundcore series and the Sony products.
Tribit Stormbox Blast Mark I, featured a two-way speaker set up with two woofers and two twitters, all pumping up a total of 90 watts RMS.
With a very powerful wall shaking bass, the first Strombox blast surprisingly maintained high sound quality and kept the low frequencies even when the volume was pumped up to the highest.
The original Tribit was also a rather good-looking beehive structured box.
But it was slightly heavy, tilting the scale at over 5 kilograms.
And it seems like the follow-up speaker has now been beefed up to over 7.5 kilograms, which means, despite the fixed handle, owners are more likely to let it stay at home as they pick up smaller devices on their way out hiking.
The new forthcoming Tribit Stormbox Blast 2 is also not quite a looker, resembling an inflated dark egg.
Again, while the disco lights on the original equipment were an eyesore, with most people keeping them turned off, the engineers at Tribiti don’t seem to have learned their lesson, they have retained them in this second outing.
With the Stormbox Blast 2, all the drivers are lit up, unlike the first which only had the lights illuminating only the two woofers, in addition to the two vertical stripes of light on further ends of the speaker.
As a plus though, this time, the new Blast comes with two Microphone (Guitar) inputs each with its own volume control and reverb switch. This looks like a take on the new Sony Speakers.
That is in addition to a 3.5 auxiliary input, a USB outlet for charging devices and type C input though it looks like the speaker will be powered through an AC inlet.

So when should people expect to lay their hands on the Tribit Stormbox Blast 2?
The post on Tribit’s website announced that ‘The highly anticipated TRIBIT Stormbox Blast 2 is launching this October! Stay tuned as we gradually reveal more exciting details about the new product!’
Being essentially bigger and uglier, the second Stormbox Blast will definitely pack an even bigger audio punch, possibly pushing the amplifier from the original 90 watts to nearly 200 watts because all details indicate that it is out to compete with similar shaped and sized W-King 20 series.
