Mystery as Top-ranking army officers are arrested in South Sudan together with a lady

Major General Akol Ayii, the former commissioner of Customs Service and the South Sudanese Presidential Envoy on the Greater Pibor Administrative Area, has been detained.

Major General Ayii was arrested in Juba together with General Akot Lual Arech and a prominent businesswoman known as Achai Wiir.

The South Sudan government is now explaining the reason behind the trio’s arrest.

The development has however sent shockwaves throughout the community, with many questioning the motives behind such high-profile detentions.

Until going to press, no formal charges have been announced, leaving the public in a state of uncertainty and concern.

Major General Akol Ayii is known for his role in the Customs Service and his work as the presidential Envoy on the Greater Pibor Administrative Area.

General Akot Lual Arech, on the other hand, is a respected military leader with a long history of service to the country.

Meanwhile Achai Wiir is a successful businesswoman in South Sudan, who has made significant contributions to the local economy.

The lack of clear information surrounding the arrests has raised suspicions among the public, with many South Sudanese calling for transparency and due process to be followed.

The government in Juba has yet to provide any details on the reasons behind the detention of these three individuals, further adding to the uncertainty.

For most residents of Juba, they feel it is crucial for their government to uphold the rule of law and ensure that all individuals are treated fairly and in accordance with their rights.

A journalist based in the South Sudanese capital stated that the public deserves to know the reasons behind these arrests and to have faith in the legal system to provide a just outcome.

“As this story continues to develop, it is important for all parties involved to act responsibly and uphold the principles of justice and transparency. The public will be closely watching to see how this situation unfolds and whether justice will be served for all those involved,” he said.

The East African country is still waiting for the authorities in Juba to provide clear and timely information on the arrests of Maj. General Akol Ayii, General Akot Lual Arech, and Achai Wiir, and to ensure that due process is followed in their cases.

“Only then can the public have confidence in the fairness and integrity of the legal system,” an observer commented.
