The Women’s soccer team from the National Service has set another record of emerging the overall victors of this season’s Premier League without losing any match.
JKT Queens are now the official 2022/2023 Serengeti Lite’s Women Premier League winners after thrashing the Mkwawa Queens of Iringa 7-2 in the match played at the CCM Samora grounds in Iringa.
Their ultimate win in the final match of the league added JKT Queens’ points to reach 46, topping the entire line-up of ten such mainland’s women football clubs.
Simba Queens became the runner ups in the mainland Women Premier league with a total of 45 points overall.
Amassing 41 Points the Fountain Gate soccer team was the third winner, while Yanga Princess managed to enter into the fourth winning slot with 34 points and Alliance Girls closed the top-five bracket with 27 points.
The Baobab team finished at number six with 22 points; Ceasiaa Queens came Seventh with 21 points, while the Amani team took the eighth position with a measly eight points.
Unfortunately both the Tiger Queens of Arusha also with 8 points and Mkwawa Queens of Iringa with 3 points kissed the Premier League Goodbye by dropping from their respective placements.
So what do the JKT Queens officials say about their victorious take?
“Winning the league without losing a single game is now new to JKT Queens,” boasted the squad’s coach, Ally Ally adding that they achieved the victory twice in the past during the time when he was just a soccer teacher at the National Service.
“I am very proud to have achieved this victory and going into records as the coach whose team has managed to stamp three consecutive winnings in the Women Premier League,” Ally maintained.
The JKT Queens team Captain, Anastazia Katunzi said the secret behind their series of victories include unity, dedication and the players’ love for sports coupled with the spirit of competition and support from the National Service leaders.
“We are now starting preparation to participate in the forthcoming Africa’s Women Championship League,” Anastazia stated, adding that they were also confident that the JKT Queens will make Tanzania proud with their anticipated victory on the continent.
