Lexie Alford, the Guinness World Record holder for being the youngest person to travel to every country, has some strong advice on places you should steer clear of if you value your life.
With more than half a million subscribers on her YouTube channel, Lexie Alford shares her insights on the most perilous places on the planet.

These are the ten countries that Lexie Alford warns against visiting as far as safety is concerned.
Unfortunately, two of them, that is South Sudan and Somalia, making the top ten listing at number 4 and 6, happen to be members of the East African Community (EAC).
1. North Korea
North Korea tops the list. Known for its secrecy and strict government control, it’s possible to visit through government-arranged tours, but it comes with immense risks. Misbehavior can lead to severe consequences, as evidenced by the tragic case of a U.S. tourist who died after being detained for trying to steal a poster.
2. Bangladesh
Next up is Bangladesh. While this South Asian country is rich in culture, it faces numerous challenges such as terrorist threats and natural disasters. Petty crime is rampant, and the lack of tourism infrastructure means visitors often stick out, making them targets.
3. Libya
Libya remains deeply divided and dangerous following the fall of dictator Muammar Gaddafi. The country is plagued by organized crime and militias, making it a hotspot for violence and instability.
4. South Sudan
South Sudan is another country on Lexie’s no-go list. With ongoing violence and a high risk of foreigners being targeted for kidnapping, it’s a place where safety is a constant concern.
5. Central African Republic
The Central African Republic is equally hazardous. Lexie recounts a harrowing experience where her plane had to descend in a corkscrew pattern to avoid missile strikes, highlighting the extreme risks involved.
6. Somalia
Somalia is notorious for its instability and kidnapping threats. Tourists require armed guards, and the dangers are significant enough to deter all but the most necessary visits.
7. Syria
Syria has been engulfed in war since 2011, resulting in the destruction of many historic sites and widespread violence. The ongoing conflict and oppressive regime make it a treacherous destination.
8. Mali
Mali is another country where kidnapping is a severe risk. Rescue efforts are almost impossible, making it one of the most dangerous places to visit.
9. Yemen
Yemen is in the midst of a humanitarian crisis, exacerbated by ongoing conflict between Saudi forces and Houthi rebels. Famine, disease, and the lack of foreign embassies make it a perilous place for tourists.
10. Afghanistan
Finally, Afghanistan tops Lexie’s list as the most dangerous country to visit. Since the Taliban’s return to power in 2021, the country has become extremely hazardous, especially for Western tourists. The strict enforcement of Taliban rules and the potential for violence make it a destination to avoid at all costs.
