The Son of former Libyan Leader, Muammar Gaddafi held in Lebanon Prison starts another hunger strike
Hannibal Gaddafi, the son of the late Libyan dictator leader Muammar Gaddafi, has once again started a hunger strike in a Lebanese prison in which he is being held for over a decade now.
Gaddafi is on hunger strike to protest against his ongoing detention of nearly ten years, languishing in prison without any trial.
The son of Muammar Gaddafi was kidnapped from Syria in 2015 and got handed over to the Lebanese authorities being accused, or maybe linked, with the 1978 disappearance of cleric Musa al-Sadr in Libya.
However, Hannibal as well as many other Libyans are wondering how the son of Muammar Gaddafi could be connected with the incident which took place in North Africa at the time when he was only two years old.

The family of Mr Gaddafi describes the detention of Hannibal in Lebanon to be arbitrary and unjust.
According to Gaddafi’s family, the Lebanese authorities have been ignoring offers from Libya to cooperate.
During his previous hunger strikes Hannibal suffered health complications leading to him being hospitalized and this is causing the family to be extremely worried.
For most Libyans, Hannibal Gaddafi is being wrongly held. They believe that his continued imprisonment without charges is also a serious violation of justice.
They are now requesting the Libyan government to initiate firm and immediate action in advocating for Hannibal Gaddafi’s release from the Lebanese prison and ensure that his safety as well as legal and human rights are well protected.
