The Kilimanjaro Tee: TPC Open 2022 Hosts Golfers in Moshi

At least 110 players will be teeing off in the forthcoming TPC Golf Open to be staged for two days in the Moshi Municipality of Kilimanjaro Region.

The TPC Golf Club Captain, Jaffari Ally explains here that the TPC Open 2022 runs on Saturday, September 17 and Sunday, September 18.

The event tees off on the 36-hole golf course at the TPC Grounds and Club in Moshi.

The TPC Club is located within the oldest sugar cane plantation in Tanzania at the foot of Mount Kilimanjaro.

So far nine clubs from all over Tanzania have been confirmed their participation in the TPC Open 2022.

The teams include Gymkhana tethered clubs such as the Arusha Gymkhana Golf Club, Dar Gymkhana Golf Club and the Morogoro Gymkhana Club.

Others are the Moshi Golf Club; the Lugalo Golf Club, Kilombero Golf Club, Mufindi Golf Club and the host, TPC Golf Club of Moshi.

There are a number of winning categories during the TPC Golf Open 2022 in Moshi.

The listed winners categories include, Overall Winner Gross, Overall Gross Runner-up, Overall Winner net, Division Winners and Runner Ups, Senior winners, Top Lady golfers and Junior winners.

“The tourney will also have a preceding side event for professional golfers that are going to compete on September 15 and16, that is two days earlier.

The Professional golf event starts early so as to pave way for the main golfing open tourney,” stated Ally.

The main sponsor of the TPC Open 2022 golfing event is the CRDB Bank.

The Professional golfers that will be playing in the curtain raiser, include those from Gymkhana Club of Arusha, Moshi Golf Club, as well as Morogoro and Dar-es-salaam Gymkhana Clubs.

But aside from golf competitions, the TPC Management has started special programs to recruit, initiate and train young and upcoming golfers.

At the moment there are over 56 children and youth undergoing the golf training sessions in Moshi.

“We are recruiting young players aged between 5 and 17 years,” said the TPC Golf Captain.

In addition to providing the youngsters with free golfing courses, TPC also issues out sporting equipment and other relevant support to the young and upcoming golfers.
