Tanzanian Athletes for 2023 World Cross Country Championships in Australia

Tanzania is in the process of preparing runners to represent the country in the World Athletics Cross Country Championships 2023.

A total of 113 athletes from Arusha, Manyara, Singida and Kilimanjaro have been hand-picked for the initial grilling towards the International event next February, 2023.

Latest reports indicate that the 2023 World Athletics Cross Country Championships will be taking place in Bathurst, Australia.

The Secretary of Arusha Athletics Association, Rogath Steven said the chosen athletes have been practicing in the remote Burka Estates in the outskirts of the city during the first training series.

They have been racing through some challenging 10 kilometers of remote landscapes of Arusha suburbs.

The second training series comes up in December and again to be held in the Northern City of Arusha.

Apparently there will be four preparatory series before the final event which will produce the ultimate National Athletics team.

They are all warming up for the 44th Edition of the World Athletics Cross-Country Championships slated to be taking place on 18 February 2023.

But the race will be preceded by a special opening ceremony on Friday, 17 February 2022.

Nearly 600 athletes from more than 60 countries, including Tanzania will participate in the cross-country feat at the famous Mount Panorama.

The event was previously scheduled for September 2021, but got postponed due to Australian travel restrictions.
