Tanzania’s Diamond Platinumz threatens a Friday 13th concert at the Royal Albert Hall in London

Tanzania’s teeny bopper, Diamond Platinumz is threatening to stage musical concerts at the Royal Albert Hall in London, on a rather peculiar date, Friday the 13th during the month of June 2025.

The Wasafi label front man, famous for crooning over synthesized beats, vows to this time perform ‘Live,’ in the United Kingdom.

Singing live without backing tracks is something which almost all new age auto-tuned poppers in Tanzania and East Africa, have not been able to accomplish even after decades in the showbiz.

The dates for the announced show, according to the artist’s social media pages, have been set for Friday, the 13th of June 2025 from 7.00 pm at the Royal Albert Hall located on SW7 2BX, London.

But the ‘Royal Albert Hall,’ website has also confirmed the Diamond Platnumz’s forthcoming show at the venue.

“The superstar East African singer and songwriter from Tanzania, will be performing live at the Royal Albert Hall in his first ever headline show in London,” the RAH website affirms.

“Considered one of the most influential Afrobeats and R’n’B singers, Diamond Platnumz’s energy, fashion statement and vocal dexterity have set him out as one of the best singers of this generation.”

The Royal Albert Hall says with over 5 billion streams across all platforms Diamond Platnumz has inscribed his name as one of the greatest artists of all time.

Diamond’s popular songs include Yope, Waah, Inama, Jeje and Nana.

Diamond, on the other hand, calls it ‘UK Tour,’ but so far there seems to be only one proposed performance whose presale tickets started to be pushed from April 9. While General sales retailed from April 11, 2025.

So, who exactly is going to attend Diamond Platinumz’s alleged ‘Live’ show in London?

This is something that people, and the local media here, have to wait and see once the guy from Madale in Dar catches the plane to Heathrow next June.

Especially because Diamond’s girlfriend and Wasafi protege, Zuchu, recently attempted a show in the United States which failed drastically driving her to tears.

However, with plenty of Tanzanians living in the United Kingdom at the moment, Naseeb Abdullah should already have some starting capital for his intended London audience.

Still, Friday the 13th isn’t exactly a date to bank on when one counts on luck.

And again, London is also the city which produced mega international pop stars such as Elton John, George Michael, Robbie Williams, Gary Barlow and Rick Astley.

The UK is again home to the popular boy bands like Take That, Boyzone and East 17, as well as chart topping groups like the Pet Shop Boys, Bros, the London Beat and Eternal.

Now, will a less-known Dar-es-salaam based crooner be able to make a ripple in the capital of the European Music Industry?
