Zall Jihlavan Airplanes, the Aircraft Manufacturing firm operating from Jihlava, in the Czech Republic, intends to establish the company’s Skyleader planes’ manufacturing plant in Tanzania, to serve the African Continent as well as, possibly, the Middle-East.
The Czech firm, according to reliable reports from the Tanzania Updates handler, happens to be in final discussions with Tanzanian authorities in the bid to built the factory from which the Ultra-light, airframes for the ‘Skyleader 500,’ planes will be manufactured.
Currently the firm builds a number of models including Skyleader 200, Skyleader 400, Skyleader 500, and 600.
It seems the Tanzania plant will mostly focus on the Skyleader 500 aircraft models.
“The history of the current aircraft goes back to the early 90s, when the first concept of a modern, all-metal four-seat airplane was created. This airplane, Z90 and its lighter variant – TP41, was designed as a substitution for the existing Z40 series from the company Moravan. The study had been worked out in the Institute of Aerospace Engineering (IAE) at the Brno Technical University. At that time the existing economical and organizational conditions in the country did not allow the realization of the Z90 project; nevertheless the concept of a modern all-metal airplane was set up.
Skyleader
According to the company’s website, the Zall JIHLAVAN airplanes, factory has also been heavily involved in aeronautical research, design and commercial manufacture.
The company was involved in manufacturing and assembling the doors for the Airbus A320 airliner, plus other certified aviation sub-contracting.
