East Africa’s fastest runner, Eliud Kipchoge of Kenya has just topped the Marathon, for the second time in a row, know exactly what he wants … it is not war, but global peace (Russsia, Ukraine, are you reading this?).
The Kenyan wind chaser, and catching it too, holds record as the two-times Olympic marathon champion as well as world record holder. He however narrowly failed to beat his own world record
Kipchoge won the race in 2hr 2min 40sec, the fourth-fastest time in history, to give him victories in four of the world’s six major marathons.
Having just won the Tokyo Marathon in Japan with a time of two hours two minutes and 40 seconds on Sunday, the 6th of March 2022, Kipchoge, defended his marathon title at Sapporo at the Tokyo Games last year.
However the Kenyan athletic while managed to follow up on his victory at last year’s Tokyo Olympics, he won this year’s race with a run that fell more than a minute short of his world record.
“I am so proud to win in the streets of Tokyo, where the people have been running in their hearts an minds. It is great to now have won Four out of the Six Abbott World Marathon Major Races. Finally, I want to say I want this world to unite. My victory today is to bring positivity to this world!”

Now kipchoge has been left with two other major marathons to complete the set.
He has already tackled, Berlin Marathon, London Marathon, Chicago Marathon and recently Tokyo Marathon.
The Kenyan fastest human is thus looking forward to the New York Marathon and later close the chapter with the forthcoming Boston Marathon, both to be staged in the United States.
