In another development, Tanzania is planning to build another bridge in Jangwani area, at the section of Morogoro Road passing through the Msimbazi River Basin in Dar-es-salaam city.

The proposed new Jangwani bridge, to stretch at nearly 400 meters, is expected to cost TZS 276 Billion upon completion.

Reliable sources reveal that Tanzania intends to ink a US $ 120 Million loan agreement for the intended project.

The Bridge is being built to solve the long-existed problem of floods, usually affecting the valley during rainy seasons, especially monsoons.

Currently in the preparation process, the project entails construction of the new bridge and dredging of the river extending from Kawawa road to Selander Bridge so as to allow easy flow of rainwater into the Indian Ocean.
