Nigerian movie star, Jimmy Iyke is in Tanzania, scanning the who was scanning the country’s landscapes a few months ago, is back in the country again.
A little belated as he had promised to start shooting a film in April 2022 but now the Nollywood actor makes scene in June, late June at that.
Lyke landed in Tanzania in early 2022 coming to find the right scenes where he will be filming his next movie.
But for starters the star behind the ‘Omambala’ movie, took an excursion into the Ngorongoro Crater.
Earlier on, as he landed at the Kilimanjaro International Airport, the actor from Abuja, stated that his visit to Tanzania is not just for relaxation but to rake for new sceneries and scout local actors that may be featured in his new film projects, including the next flick.
On social media outlets, Jimmy Iyke, a singer, actor and writer, boasts more than two million followers and counting.
‘Last Flight to Abuja,’ happens to be Iyke’s most popular work at the moment. He is probably also going to be catching the last flight from Arusha to Abuja after his itinerary in Serengeti National Park.
“For my next movie, I not only intend to film in Tanzanian but also work with local actors as well,” maintained the Nollywood star, adding that he enjoys both the country’s scenic and people’s hospitality.
In addition, Iyke says the Royal Tour Tanzania, a documentary featuring President Samia Suluhu, released in late April 2022, is what inspired him to come into the country to see the possibility of making his own feature movie here.
Jimmy Iyke will thus be shooting a number of films on the sets in Tanzania.
Tanzania seems to be happy with what the Nigerian actor is about to do in the country.
Iyke boasts a fan base of 10 million followers on social media.
For the people in the tourism industry Jimmy Iyke is the perfect vehicle to market the country’s destinations in Nigeria, across Africa and possibly beyond.
Born in Gabon, Jim Iyke is officially called, James Ikechukwu Esomugha Okolue.
The Nigerian actor featured in the rather popular film; ‘Last Flight to Abuja,’ which also starred Hakeem Kae-Kazim as well as Omotola Jalade Ekeinde.
The ‘Omambala’ star, debuted into the film industry back in 2001 and grew up to become one of the highest paid actors in Nigeria.
Jimmy has been featured in more than 150 Nigerian movies.
The actor also runs his own film production firm known as ‘Untamed Productions,’ which he established in 2007. Jim Iyke is also flirting with music and even formed his own music record label, called the ‘Untamed Records.’
As far as singing is concerned, Jimmy Iyke has already produced a pop album, titled ‘Who Am I?’ featuring other Nigerian musicians such as TuFace Idibia (2Face) who once visited Tanzania also, and Sound Sultan.
