The Managing Director of Mantra, Aleksandr Ryabchenko, who paid courtesy call to regional and district officials, stated that the donated Chemical Analysis machine was valued at 30 million/- Tanzanian Shillings.

He added that the laboratory equipment should come in handy to the District Hospital’s medical team in their mission to provide quality healthcare to patients.

The Uranium One subsidiary Mantra Tanzania is a division of the international group of companies, part of the management circuit of the TENEX Group of Rosatom State Corporation.

Mantra Tanzania Limited is currently in the final stages of constructing a pilot plant in Namtumbo District and is envisaging commencing the firm’s pilot production before December 2023.

But the company is already undertaking the required corporate social responsibility in the surrounding precincts.

The Regional Commissioner for Ruvuma, Colonel Laban Thomas, in addition to appreciating Mantra’s contributions, pointed out that he was really looking forward for the firm to start production as it will boost the area’s economy in addition to floating employment opportunities to local residents.

Mantra Tanzania Limited was granted a Special Mining License in April 2013.

The company has however been holding back a bit, before starting fully fledged production, waiting for the global Uranium Prices to stabilize.

Mantra Tanzania Limited has invested over USD 240 Million in the Mkuju River Project since the discovery of a significant world-class uranium deposit in the area back in the year 1996.

These Uranium Reserves are predicted to be able to keep the company activities running for at least 15 years.

The production will be able to account for about 20 percent of the total Uranium output on the African Continent. It will constitute over 4 percent of the entire global production.
