A special sporting mission from the Northern Zone will be touring Dar-es-salaam and Morogoro region scouting for young upcoming footballers who will be provided with full scholarships to undergo training at Arusha camps.
The talent scouting team from Young Boys Academy Tanzania, which runs a sports academy in Arusha, will be recruiting new members in Dar-es-Salaam and Morogoro, through a special scouting program known as ‘Football Trials.’
“We are looking for talented young boys born between 2015 and 2016 and the ones who excel, get full sponsored scholarships that cover both academic and sporting scholarships,” revealed Richard Pallangyo the Director of Young Boys Academy Tanzania.
The talent scouting program in Dar-es-salaam is scheduled for the 5th and 6th of September 2025 at two venues; the Kunduchi Beach Primary grounds and Mbagala respectively.
In Morogoro the team will be recruiting talented youth from the 8th to the 9th of September 2025 at the Jamhuri Stadium.
After the Football Trials tour, the Young Boys Academy intends to recruit six new footballers aged between 9 and 11 years, from Morogoro and Dar-es-salaam.
That is three recruits from each region.
“The candidates must all be primary education pupils and those that become successful will be connected to other international schools in addition to being trained at the Young Boys Academy base of Arusha,” said the director.
The Young Boys Academy intends to be conducting Football Trials every year.
“In the next three years, Young Boys intends to have at least 46 new recruits picked from various parts of the country,” explained the director, adding that at the moment the Academy in Arusha has a total of 21 members.
The sports academy started in the 2023- 2024 soccer season, with 14 young members and later in 2025 the number has now reached 21 all aged between 9 and 15 years.
“We not only train them in soccer but also support them in academic studies and that many of their members have been leading in National Examinations at regional levels,” said the Director.
