It is still not known exactly how many people were killed in the Lake Kivu Ferry accident but the number from various sources range between 20 and 50.
But so far 25 bodies have been fished from Lake Kivu in eastern Democratic Republic of Congo.
The overloaded ferry reportedly capsized just a few hundred metres from its destination.
The marine vessel was sailing from the town of Minova in South Kivu.
It capsized and went under water as it was about to dock at the harbor on Goma’s shore.
The video below shows the ship tilting to one side before sinking as people in another boat scream helplessly.
It is still unclear how many people were on board, but the Tanzania Times has gathered from the survivors that the boat may have been carrying at least 200 people.
