Ferocious fighting pitting the Armed Forces of the Democratic Republic of Congo and the coalition between the March 23 rebels and the Congo River Alliance keep getting intense and so far, more than 3000 people have been killed with 7000 others seriously injured.

The South Kivu Province is currently the main battlefield for the three groups.

New clashes were reported in Bushushu of Kalehe territory in South Kivu Province having escalated from the previously recorded battle of the village of Nyamukubi.

Several local sources have indicated that Bushushu has been badly affected due intense violence which broke out after the rebels were ambushed by the loyal FARDC armed groups in Bushushu during their marching mission towards the province of Bukavu.

The development came after the rebel groups succeeded in conquering the getaway towns Nyamukubi and Lushebere plus the adjoining hamlets.

Meanwhile the DR Congo president Félix Tshisekedi has ordered the issuing of an international arrest warrant against Alliance Fleuve du Congo (AFC) and M23 rebel coalition leader Corneille Nangaa.

This comes after Nangaa addressed a well-attended public meeting at the Unity Stadium in the North Kivu provincial capital of Goma.

Reports say the people in Goma expressed their support for the rebel leader and denounced the leadership of Felix Tshisekedi.

In reaction to that, President Tshisekedi ordered the military to launch an international arrest warrant against Nangaa, the former head of the DR Congo Electoral Commission, turned rebel leader.

The international arrest warrant was issued by the Higher Military Audit of Kinshasa Gombe which has requested that Corneille Nangaa be detained wherever he is found abroad and be extradited back to Kinshasa for execution.
