School Bus Accident Kills Five People Heading for Wedding

At least five people are feared dead following the school bus crash which occurred along Chuka-Embu highway in Kenya.

The bus belonging to the Ruiri Girls High School, which was heading to a ceremony in Nairobi, was involved in the accident which occurred in the early Saturday Morning at Njuri along the Chuka-Embu Road.

But early reports indicate that there were no students aboard, because the vehicle was hired by people who used it as their wedding vehicle.

As it happens, the school bus was carrying 46 adults.

These passengers were traveling from MCK Thau in Tigania West, heading to Nairobi City.

They were using the school bus for the trip to attend a wedding ceremony which should be taking place in Nairobi City.

But at around 6:20 am, the bus veeered offroad and plunged into the roadside ditch.

Four people died on the spot. There were reports of serious injuries and possible more dead victims as rescue exercises continues.
