Randeep Birdi from Dar-es-Salaam drove into victory in the just ended fourth round of the National Rally Championships held in Arusha.
Birdi beat his rather tough opponents to win the Guru Nanak Motor Rally in the first position after spinning the wheels of his Mitsubishi Evo to complete the 217 kilometers of the two-day sporting event.
Navigated by Manmeet Singh, driver Birdi taxed the engine of his Mitsubishi Evolution 9 to achieve the well-earned victory.
The Dar-es-Salaam based motorist won the race by using 1 hour, 53 minutes and 25 seconds to drive onto the finishing point.
Birdi finished ahead of the first runner-up and his closest challenger, Yassin Nasser from Uganda by a sheer minute.
Coincidentally it was Randeeb Birdi who won the first round of the National Rally Championship (NRC) which was held in Tanga last July 2024 and returned to win again in the fourth and final one at Guru Nanak Rally of Arusha, closing the motor sporting season with grace.
With that, Birdi is therefore the official winner of the National Rally Championship in 2024.
All the way from Uganda, the Moil Team fronted by Yassin Nasser and his navigator Ally Katumba slightly missed the title after clocking 1 hour, 54 minutes and 07 seconds to complete the race driving in their trusted Ultramodern Ford R5 machine.
Kenya’s Motorsports legend, Ian Duncan finished third overall in his Nissan Pick Up. Duncan covered the distance in 1 hour 54 minutes and 39 seconds.

Duncan finished a minute faster than the fourth-placed Ahmed Huwel, the driver from Iringa.
Driving a Ford Proto, Ahmed Huwel who was navigated by Rahim Suleiman spent 1 hour, 55 minutes and 42 seconds on the cross-country tracks.
Closing in the top-five list was Gurpal Sandhu from Arusha who drove for 2 hours 02 minutes and 20 seconds in the Mitsubishi Evolution 10.
Another rally driver from Dar-es-Salaam, Manveer Birdi grabbed the sixth position after spending 2:06:53 ahead of Rajpar Dhani from Kilimanjaro region who used 2 hours 10 minutes and 12 seconds.
Debuting in the National Rally of Tanzania for the first time, Prince Charles Nyerere claimed the seventh position after spending 2:11:13 to cover the 217 kilometers distance.
Kilimanjaro’s Mandeep Dhani and his navigator Awadh Bafadhil claimed the Ninth position in Subaru Impreza as Binesh Haria finished 10th, while Charles Bicco and David Matete held the 11th position in Subaru Impreza N12.
Hamid Mbatta from Iringa closed the winners’ list in the twelfth position.
