The combined forces of the March 23 and Congo River Alliance are compelled to Continue Fighting, this time however it is for their own Survival, as the authorities will never let them escape.
According to the leader of the rebel groups, Corneille Nangaa, the fighting parties need to protect themselves from President Felix Tshisekedi armies and some international bodies supporting the Kinshasa government.
The Congo River Alliance (AFC) and M23 rebel movement leader Corneille Nangaa told the media recently that the rebels are forced to continue fighting in order to protect themselves from the DR Congo and international community.
As far as he is concerned, the combined Congo River Alliance (AFC) and March 23 rebel leader, his politico-military no longer have anything to lose after having had their livelihoods destroyed by the DR Congo government and got sanctioned by the international community.
In other words, with their lives on the line, the Rebels in DR Congo could be more dangerous now than before.
Nangaa explains that the international communities that are supporting President Felix Tshisekedi have hidden motives.
Foreign countries have been promised free minerals from DRC by the Kinshasa Government once the rebels have been squashed with their support.
“Our property has been auctioned, our relatives are nailed in prisons in Kinshasa, we are under sanctions from the United States, the European Union. We have nothing left to lose, we are therefore now forced to fight for our survival,” Nangaa maintained during the press briefing.
On the other hand, the AFC and M23 rebel movement remain in control of the strategic North Kivu and South Kivu regions in eastern DR Congo even as their fighting against the Congo Armed Forces (FARDC) rages on.
