Kikwete’s Son joins President Samia Cabinet

Ridhiwani, who is the son of former President of Tanzania, Jakaya Kikwete, has for the first time been included in the country’s governing team.

Ridhiwani Kikwete will now serve as Deputy Land and Housing Minister under President Samia Suluhu Hassan’s newly reshuffled cabinet.

His father, Kikwete, was President of Tanzania between 2005 and 2015. Ridhiwani is member of Parliament for the Coastal Chalinze Constituency.

In the latest reshuffle Angelina Mabula becomes the new Minister of Land, Housing and Settlements, replacing William Lukuvi who has been shown the door.

The formerly enstranged, Nape Moses Nnauye, who started off as the Information Minister during President Magufuli’s leadership, before the two fell apart, returns again in the same docket, the Ministry of Information, Communications and Information Technology under Samia.

Ashatu Kijaji who served the Information Ministry has been moved to the Ministry of Industries, Investments and Trade.

Hussein Bashe is taking over fully as Minister of Agriculture. Anthony Mavunde is his Deputy.

Prof Adolf Mkenda now serves as the Minister of Education, Science and Technology replacing Joyce Ndalichako.

Ndalichako meanwhile takes the Youths, Labor and Employment Ministry docket.

Prof. Palamagamba Kabudi who served as Constitutonal and Legal Affairs Minister has been ousted.

Ummy Mwalimu returns back to Health Ministry. She was moved from the docket into Local Government during Magufuli’s era.

Former Health Minister, Dorothy Gwajima moves to Community Development, Gender and Special Needs docket.

Mohammed Mchengerwa shifts from President’s Office (Public Service) and is now the Minister for Sports, Arts and Culture.

Jenista Mhagama is now the Minister in President’s Office (Public Service Management and Good Governance).

Innocent Bashungwa now serves as Minister for Regional Administration and Local Government.

Engineer Hamad Yussuf Massauni is the new Minister for Local Government. He previously served as Deputy Minister in the Finance and Planning Ministry. Jumanne Abdalla is his Deputy.

Pindi Chana now serves in the Prime Minister’s Office, Policy, Parliamentary Issues and Coordination.

George Simbachawene now handles the Ministry of Constituion and Legal Affairs

Atupele Mwakibete is the Deputy Minister for Works and Transportation.
