Iringa Women Soccer team gets performance boost from new Coach

The new Coach of the Ceasiaa Queens, Ezekiel Chobanka said he intends to escalate the performance of the Iringa-based soccer team to the highest national levels in the ongoing mainland Women League.

Chobanka takes the helm at Ceasiaa after jumping ship from the Alliance girls of Mwanza, in the Lake Zone, where his previous team also recorded remarkable performance.

He is promising to replicate the same success in the Southern Highlands’ women team.

So far under the new coach, Ceasiaa Queens succeeded in thrashing the Mashujaa Queens from Kigoma in the country’s Western Peninsular 2-0 at the game held in the CCM Samora Stadium of Iringa.

The first goal was scored by Tantine Mashiwa in the eighth minute and the second by Margaret Kunihira in the 43rd minute of the match’s second half.

“We are investing in more training, extensive exercising and maintaining strict discipline to ensure that the team does even better in future matches,” said the Coach. Ceasiaa has earned three more points for their achievements.

Ezekiel Chobanga boasted that, ever since he took over the Ceasiaa Queens, the team has never lost a single match which indicates a good start under the new management.

“At the moment Ceasiaa Queens are warming up to face the Simba Queens of Dar-es-salaam,” said the coach, adding that even this other team is not new to him as he had faced them before during his sporting tenure in Mwanza.’

The coach expressed appreciation for the huge support that Ceasiaa queens are getting in Iringa and surrounding regions, assuring that the Southern Highlands’ women team will definitely return into the top-four position slotting of the National League.

On his part, the resident Coach for Ceasiaa of Mashujaa Queens, Ally Ally whose team got beaten in Iringa, said the game that the Kigoma ladies lost to their Iringa nemesis only serves as a lesson for the Mashujaa team to go back to the drawing board and correct previous mistakes.

Ally said he expects better results when the team gets to face the  Yanga Princess in their forthcoming match.

The Simba Queens are currently topping the Women Premier League in Tanzania with 31 points, followed by the JKT Queens amassing 26 points in the second position, while the Yanga Princess is slotted third with 18 points.
