“I was sent to warn President Magufuli that he would be killed!” says former envoy to Cuba
“I was sent to warn President Magufuli that he was about to be killed!”
Former Tanzanian envoy to Cuba, Humphrey Polepole divulged that, somebody had sneaked information to him about plans to murder the late President John Pombe Magufuli.
According to Polepole the grapevine confidential info was relayed to him by some person who should remain anonymous.
That mysterious person reportedly followed him during the last days of President Magufuli’s life and claimed that there were some people who wanted to see the head of state dead at any cost.
During that time, Polepole was the chief propagation and communication officer of the ruling Chama Cha Mapinduzi (CCM) party.
According to the former Ambassador, his political party has now been hijacked by a network of racketeers who are out to destroy both CCM and the country.
The strong allegations have just been revealed by Polepole in another episode of his ongoing series of controversial online media addresses that he insists are meant to warn the country about what is happening underground and behind the scenes.
So did he tell President Magufuli about the plans
“I went to the president and relayed the report from the confidential source that there were plans to kill him,” Polepole maintained, adding that he was surprised and slightly annoyed that Magufuli did not seem to care much about the pending danger.
“Listen in this world we are all perishable, none of us can live forever, therefore let’s work hard to serve the people, if it is God’s will that we die, so let be it,” the President had allegedly told him.
However, a few days later, John Magufuli called Polepole over the phone and directed him to report to find the president’s assistant and report what he had divulged to the head of state earlier.
From his statement, it seems the former Tanzanian ambassador to Cuba suspected there was a hand in President John Pombe Magufuli’s death. The Head of State passed away in March 2021.
Polepole used the occasion to also warn the current President, Samia Suluhu Hassan that she was being surrounded by dangerous people who may smile and praise her on the face but also plot horrid things underground.
The former envoy to Cuba is advising the president to organize a national dialogue to address the current state of the nation and also release the opposition leader, Tundu Antipas Lissu who is languishing in prison under treason charges.
