Eight South Sudanese nationals have just been deported back to Juba from the United States as illegal immigrants.
A U.S Plane Carrying Deported South Sudanese is reported to have recently landed in the South Sudanese Capital with the said deportees.
However, the authorities in Juba have been keeping the entire development under wraps.
Still, some officials at the Juba International Airport admitted that the plane carrying the eight immigrants from the United States arrived at the terminal over the weekend.
At least the South Sudanese suspects were flown out of the United States before the infamous Alligator Alcatraz detention facilities for immigrants, which is surrounded by ferocious reptiles, roared into operation in the U.S.
Located in the State of Florida, the Alligator Alcatraz migrant detention facility is billed as “efficient” and “low-cost” – because Mother Nature will provide much of the security, being surrounded by alligators, crocodiles and pythons.
Essentially, Florida will now be detaining migrants in a new Everglades facility dubbed ‘Alligator Alcatraz.’
But the immigrants from South Sudan who have just landed in Juba seem to have missed the horrid experience in the new ‘nature guarded,’ detention.
Their expatriation comes after the American courts rejected appeals by eight migrants to halt their deportation under the immigration policies enforced by the administration of the U.S President Donald Trump.
A South Sudanese airport employee, at Juba, who spoke on condition of anonymity, confirmed that flight records indicated the plane’s arrival at six in the morning (04:00 GMT) on Saturday, July 5, 2025.
Meanwhile, an immigration official acknowledged the country’s reception of the deportees but provided no further details, referring all inquiries to the South Sudan National Security Service (SSNSS).
This follows earlier reports from a South Sudanese government source confirming the presence of some officials from the United States at the Juba International Airport in preparation for receiving the deportees.
But if the photos of the alleged deportees are anything to go by, then most of the immigrants look like they are Chinese, one with Caucasian profile and only one who is an African.
