Former Ebay Lady Becomes New American Envoy to Kenya

President Joe Biden has nominated Meg Whitman as the next US ambassador to Kenya.

Megalyn Cushing Whitman, happens to be a California billionaire.

She is also a republican who failed in her governor inspiring race, despite splashing US $144 Million for the coveted office, over ten years ago.

Meg however endorsed Joe Biden for presidency last year. And now Biden is endorsing her to represent Americans in the East African Country.

Meg Whitman, from eBay to Nairobi via HP and Quibi

Ms Whitman was once quoted as saying the former US President, Donald Trump had no clue on how to run a business, let alone an economy.

And sure enough, Meg Whitman is best known for catapulting the online retailer, eBay from US $4 million to US $8 billion in annual revenue, when she served as its CEO from 1998 to 2008.

During Whitman’s 10 years at eBay, she also oversaw its expansion from 30 employees to more than 15,000 workers. In 2014, Whitman was named 20th in Forbes List of the 100 Most Powerful Women in the World.

The new US Envoy to Kenya also worked as the Company Executive Officer for the American Information Technology Giant, Hewlett-Packard or better known as HP, between 2011 and 2015. 

Meg also worked for the streaming platform, Quibi, before it closed shop late last year.

Born on the 4th of August, 1956 Ms Whitman is still one of the board members of Procter & Gamble and General Motors
