Deputy Governor of Baringo Dies During Plane Take-Off in Nairobi

Deputy Governor of Baringo County, Charles Kimaiyo Kipng’ok has been identified as the passenger who collapses and died shortly after boarding a Kenya Airways plane in Nairobi.

The incident occurred at the Jomo Kenyatta International Airport at about 19.00 hours, Wednesday night of September 14.

A statement from Corporate Communications Department of the Kenya Airways has confirmed the incident.

This confirms the previous report by the Tanzania Times that the deceased could be a top ranking politician in Kenya.

Deputy Governor Kipng’ok had just boarded flight 612 when developed breathing difficulties.

The plane was about to take off for the Coastal City of Mombasa where the politician was heading.

However before the plane taxied away, the unfortunate Baringo Governor succumbed to death.

Health and Security Personnel at Jomo Kenyatta International Airport (JKIA) were still handling the issue by the time we went to press.

Strangely, this becomes the third death to occur in a Kenya Airways within a space of few weeks. Read More about this here.

While many people blame Kenya Airways management, others are point fingers at the Kenya Airports Authority in poor medical and emergency services at the terminal.
