By Miguel Suleyman

The Tanzania Cricket Association has lauded the country’s men’s national cricket team for their incredible victory in the ICC Men’s Twenty 20 World Cup Sub Regional Africa Qualifier.

Tanzania emerged the overall winner and qualified for the T20 International Cricket Council (ICC) World Cup.

Played in a round robin format, Tanzania defeated all the five nations that the country played against.

The Tanzanian squad managed to beat Mali, Cameroon, Ghana, Lesotho and Malawi in the ICC Men’s Twenty 20 (T20) qualifier.

A special moment came when long-time fan Elisha Shaibu, who always supports the team despite his physical challenges, was invited to hand out cash bonuses to the players.

Elisha’s dedication didn’t go unnoticed, and he was even part of the trophy presentation ceremony during the final match!

This was described to be a beautiful gesture by the Tanzania Cricket Association (TCA) in honoring such loyal support.

In another fantastic move, the players donated part of their bonuses to help develop the University of Dar-es-Salaam (UDSM) grounds, ensuring the future of cricket in Tanzania continues to shine bright!

The Chairperson of the Tanzania Cricket Association, Dr. Balakrishan S. Sreekumar, praised the players for their contribution and commitment, calling it a true show of sportsmanship.

“Together, we celebrate not just victory but also unity, passion, and the love for the game,” said Dr Sreekumar.
