Well, at least all men want the lady and the wealthy ones got her.
Amida was born as Hamida in Kinshasa, the capital of the Democratic Republic of Congo a country which by that time was known as Zaire, under Mobutu Sese Seko.
Anyway, Hamida Chatur entered this world on November 6, 1976.
Later she decided to keep out the letter ‘H’ from her first name and quietly accepted Shatur for Chatur.
The daughter of a man of Indian origin, Shabudin Chatur, and Élisabeth Ndenge Vangu, a Mayombe ethnic, left her home town of Seke-Banza in Kongo-Central for Kinshasa in 1996.
In late 90s, Congolese musician Jean Bedel Tshituka, alias JB Mpiana married Amida.
JB Mpiana was madly in love, to the point of dedicating passionate songs to her such as “The Young and the Restless” and “Tell Me Love”
Amida was the muse behind Mpiana’s ballad, Feux de l’Amour (The Fires of Love).
The song is the title track of the 1997 album that gave the world the explosive Ndombolo hit. In Feux de l’Amour, Mpiana talks about a woman who turns his life upside down, disturbs his thoughts.
This marriage would later put JB Mpiana in trouble as all his rich friends wanted to taste Amida and some didn’t hide it.
It reached a point he had to stop friends from visiting him at his home because the majority of them were targeting Amida.
The romance lasted until, on July 5, 2004.
Amida Shatur, who already had four children with JB Mpiana, married again to Congolese millionaire and diamond mogul Didace ‘Didi’ Kinuani.
Kinuani is constantly mentioned in a number of Congolese songs.
The celebration took place in Kinshasa, where the entire Kinshasa jet set was invited.
Didi Kinuani, “the Infinitive” as his admirers like to call him, is a wealthy diamond miner and a figure adored by almost all Congolese artists because of his reputation for being generous.
They say he gives out clothes, money, cars, even houses to whomever he wants.
He is the head of DIKIN GROUP.
From this union between Didi Kinuani and Amida Shatur, a boy was born a year later.
Diams Kinuani. And with this marriage, a “wild” war began between JB Mpiana and Didi Kinuani.
But three years after this celebration, things seemed to be breaking down between Didi and Amida.
In June 2009, JB Mpiana, during a party organized at his residence in Kinshasa to celebrate his 42nd birthday, surprised his guests by announcing that he had reconnected with his wife, Amida Shatur.
That was after more than 5 years of separation. He introduced Amida to the audience by declaring “you can’t buy love…”
However, the romance was on the rocks and the all-powerful Vital Kamerhe, who later became the Chief of Staff of the DR Congo President Félix Tshisekedi.
Kamerhe is currently deputy prime minister in charge of the economy of DRC.
He took Amida, the ex-wife of JB Mpiana and Ex-wife of Didi Kinuani.
Kamerhe ended up marrying her in 2019, during grand ceremonies that lasted three days, culminating in a lavish dance evening at the Pullman Hotel in the Congolese capital to the music of Koffi Olomidé.
Koffi who was then at odds with JB Mpiana must have enjoyed the party.
Kamerhe paid a dowry of USD 150,000, thirty cows and a diamond ring worth 100,000 dollars.
In April 2020, having fallen from grace due to a lawsuit brought against him by the Congolese state for embezzlement of funds intended for social housing, Kamerhe was sentenced to 20 years in jail.
He however appealed his conviction, and a second petition led to his acquittal in 2022.
In 2023, he re-joined the government as Félix Tshisekedi’s deputy prime minister in charge of the economy and launched another wedding with Amida.
Maurice Nguesso, a brother to Congo Brazzaville president Denis Sassou Nguesso was so in love with Amida that he once bought Amida a plush house in Kinshasa where he sought to keep her and ‘partake in drinking her bathwater’.
