“The first episode of the Marathon was held in Dar-es-salaam and attracted 436 runners, last April and this is the second season in Arusha,” stated the coordinator, Noreen Mawalla, adding that the race will cover all zones and at the moment it is running in the North.

Noreen Mawalla, who is the Executive Director of the Tanzania Business Women Association, said the Marathon is a special campaign to advocate for clean cooking energy for health, environment and economy and that it will go in sync with ‘Clean Energy Expo 2025,’ in Arusha.

“It will also involve special technological exhibition at the Nane-Nane Agricultural show grounds in Arusha,” explained Ms Mawalla, adding that her organization will also provide special training sessions for women and the youth on the importance of switching to clean cooking and heating energy.
