Arusha Meru International School issues free scholarships worth 125 million/- to brainy students

Winners of the 2024 Youth Talent Hunt Scholarship have been announced with a total of 51 students from various schools in the Northern Zone winning bursaries worth 125 million.

More than 1000 pupils and students participated in the second youth talent hunt scholarship test which was held at the Arusha Meru International School but only 51 managed to excel in what was described by candidates as ‘tough but manageable,’ exams.

The Arusha Meru International School’s Chief Executive Officer, Dr Zeeshan Khan said the management takes pride in such academic achievements, adding that the talent hunt winners not only excelled in writing the examinations, but also displayed outstanding leadership skills.

Acting School Principal Mwalimu Mustapha Omar Nassoro explained that among the subjects that the candidates sat for in the exams include English, Sciences, Mathematics and General Knowledge, with students of upper school also sitting for additional choice papers such as Business studies.

But from the results, it seems many candidates did very well in sciences and Arts Subjects.

On his part the Arusha Meru School Board Chairperson Kake Radhiwal said “Many Tanzanians want to access international education such as Cambridge but most cannot afford, therefore Arusha Meru is rolling out this opportunity to the talented Tanzanian youths.”

The talent hunt examinations are usually organized annually by the Arusha Meru International School.

“We are issuing out over 125 million/- in the form of education scholarships as well as up to 100 percent waivers in the school fees for the winning candidates,” said Radhiwal.

The chairperson explained here that, through the scholarships, pupils and students will be able to access quality education while their parents get relief in fees.

He added that the primary objectives of the Talent Hunt Scholarship Test are skill Assessments to provide students with a platform to showcase their abilities and identify areas of strength and improvement.
