After Conquering Kamanyola, rebel forces in DR Congo march towards Tanganyika

The Coalition of the Congo River Alliance and the March 23 Rebel forces that are fighting against the government of DR Congo are making more strides and so far, have managed to advance into the Kamanyola region.

The Rebels, according to reports from Goma, in DRC, have also taken over Uvira Town and are now targeting to seize two more provinces as they march towards the capital Kinshasa.

Edging closer to seizing two more provinces, the joint AFC and M23 coalition forces seem to be gaining more control of the Democratic Republic of Congo’s territory from the eastern region.

The rebels have already taken control of North Kivu and South Kivu from where they are now advancing further into the inner parts of the country, precisely the Great Katanga region.

Previously, the joint rebel forces managed to take control of the strategic towns of Uvira and then Kamanyola.

After their feat, the rebels’ next mission now leads them to the two provinces of Kindu and Tanganyika.

The Congo Armed Forces (FARDC) have since been alerted to take security posts in readiness for the advancement of the AFC and M23 rebel groups in the two provinces which they are currently targeting.

While in the beginning the rebel forces were seen as aiming to take over the Eastern Province, at the moment their ambition is to march into the Capital City and oust the DR Congo President Felix Tshisekedi from the Kinshasa State House.
