President Paul Kagame suddenly emerges after missing for weeks

President Paul Kagame of Rwanda has finally resurfaced after more than two weeks of not being seen in public, causing panic as his loyal fans expressed fears for his safety.

The Rwandan Head of State has just shot up like a jack in the box, with a sudden appearance at Urugwiro Village, which is the office residence of the President of Rwanda.

Urugwiro is essentially the palace where the president receives and entertains state guests and this time Kagame was welcoming the former Nigerian Head of State, Olusegun Obasanjo for what was described to be a series of discussions over various issues.

The two leaders talked about the situation in the Eastern Africa Region, matters concerning the continent as well as ongoing geopolitical warfare and their effects in Africa.

President Kagame’s recent absence from public functions, social media platforms and mainstream news for over 20 days, had sparked a lot of speculation, rumors and even heated debates.

The silence from the Government of Rwanda made things worse, with some people, including religious leaders, even insinuating that the President of Rwanda could be dead.

There were reports that Kagame had flown to Europe for medical treatment or check-up, with many claiming that the Rwandan leader was in Germany.

However, the Rwanda President’s recent appearance is also fueling a new round of debates and heated discussions on social media platforms, with the original question of ‘Where is Kagame,’ turning into ‘Where was President Kagame!’

The fact that the Rwandan leader is back, the situation is being received with mixed feelings and reactions, with some being relieved that Kagame is safe and sound, while his enemies are getting disappointed.

Paul Kagame has been the President of Rwanda since the turn of the new millennium in 2000.

Since then, Kagame has been winning all the presidential elections by allegedly 80 percent majority of votes, something which keeps raising eyebrows.

On positive side, President Kagame has managed to steer the post Genocide Rwanda into remarkable state of prosperity, with Kigali seen as the most developed, technologically savvy and cleanest city in Africa.
