Tanzania to promote Saadani National Park in Sweden. TANAPA bags European Choice Award

From Sweden to Saadan

Tanzania is expected to attract more tourists from Sweden after once more bagging the European Quality Choice Diamond Award 2025 during a Stockholm event.

The Tanzania National Parks (TANAPA) has just scooped the prestigious European Quality Choice Diamond award 2025, in Sweden, for the sixth time in a row.

TANAPA which is the custodian of the country’s 21 National Parks was awarded for attaining and sustaining the highest level of tourism service provisions by the European Society for Quality Research (ESQR).

Presenting the award, the Chief Executive of European Society for Quality Research, Michael Harris told the audience that Tanzania National Parks has been bestowed with the Quality Choice Diamond Prize 2025 in recognition of its exceptional practices in conservation and tourism services.

The trophy was presented at a high-profile gala dinner and awards ceremony held in Stockholm, Sweden. During the event, the Dar envoy to Stockholm revealed plans to aggressively market Tanzania in Scandinavian countries.

Tanzanian Ambassador to Sweden, Mobhare Matinyi, lauded the ESQR for their determination in promoting global quality management and recognizing the country’s effort to deserve a slot among the 2025 global winners.

“We are happy that TANAPA has been recognized as among the winners of the ESQR Quality Prize 2025 Award and winning the coveted title for six consecutive years,” Matinyi maintained.

The envoy added that this was another factor which reinforces Tanzania’s position as a prime tourist destination.

“This will further encourage international communities to develop more interest and curiosity about Tanzania in general as well as the attractions found in the country’s national parks,” added Matinyi.

Ambassador Matinyi promised to double the efforts in promoting Tanzania to Scandinavian countries, ensuring more visitors from Sweden get to visit the East African country.

The envoy especially wants to promote Saadani National Park, among Swedes due to the park’s uniqueness of being the only destination in East Africa where the beach meets the bush.

According to the envoy, Saadani, the National Park, striding the Indian Ocean Coastline is seen as a strategic precinct for both Swedish tourists and investors, with a direct link to Zanzibar Isles.

On his part, the Tanzania National Park’s Conservation Commissioner, Mussa Nasoro Kuji, in extending vote of thanks to the ESQR for their recognition of TANAPA’s dedication to quality management, said there was more to the trophy than what meets the eye.

“Through awards and events like these, ESQR not only honors institutional achievements but also inspires the international community to uphold best practices, drive innovation, and cultivate a culture of continuous improvement in service delivery,” Kuji pointed out.

Gracing the occasion was the Tanzanian envoy to Sweden, Mobhare Matinyi, the TANAPA Conservation Commissioner, Mussa Nasoro Kuji, the Southern Zone Commander, Senior Assistant Conservation Commissioner, Godwell Meing’ataki, and the in charge of Quality Management system, Principal Conservation Officer, Eunice Msangi.

Others were Minister-Counsellor Sweden, Mr Malik Hassan and the TANAPA Senior Conservation Officer, Andrew Mbai.

The Tanzania National Park which is among the ISO 9001:2015-certified institutions in Tanzania, was described to be actively promoting sustainable tourism that enhances visitor experiences, contributes to the well-being of local communities, and supports national economic growth.
