President Salva Kiir makes changes in South Sudan government

The President of the Republic of South Sudan, General Salva Kiir Mayardit, has partly overhauled his government, making some considerable changes in administrative and security departments.

President Salva Kiir has carried out extensive administrative and security reforms affecting the communications and security sectors, as part of the government’s efforts to enhance institutional efficiency and modernize organizational structures.

Some of the Changes in the Communications Sector include revoking the appointment of Martin Mabor Miuen who was initially picked to serve as the undersecretary of the Ministry of Information, Communication Technology, and Postal Services.

But for some reason, Mabor Miuen was sacked even before assuming office.

The South Sudan President therefore appointed Miuen Bulbek Chol as the new Undersecretary of the ministry, who is now taking over from his namesake, Mabor Miuen.

Preident Mayardit also promoted Napoleon Adok, the former Director-General of the National Communications Authority, from the rank of Brigadier to the Major General status.

Meanwhile the Sudanese Head of State made some modifications in the country’s Security Apparatus by promotion of Major General Kir Nguot Reng to the rank of Lieutenant General.

Salva Kiir also appointed Lieutenant General, Gregory Deng Kuach, to serve as the Undersecretary of the Ministry of Defense.

Gregor Kuach previously served as the Deputy Director-General for Administrative, Financial, and General Intelligence Affairs, a docket which is now left vacant, pending new appointment.

Reports from the Juba State House explain that these changes in the South Sudan administration and Security departments come within the framework of a broader restructuring process aimed at improving performance and refining operational mechanisms across state institutions.
