Tanzanian lady abandoned in DR Congo craving for parents living in Dar-es-salaam

A young Tanzanian lady who was abandoned in the Democratic Republic of Congo, has started inquiring about the whereabouts of her family, which she believes to be still living in Dar-es-salaam City.

Born in Dar-es-salaam back in 1999, the lady, Vivian Mhagama Mvungi now aged 26, is currently living in the Lubumbashi DRC with her new family.

According to Vivian, she was just a child, aged 10, when her mother travelled to DR Congo in the year 2009, taking the girl with her.

What the mother was doing during their trip to DR Congo then, is yet to be known.

Now, for some strange reasons, the mother identified as Mrs Irene Mvungi decided to ditch her ten-years-old daughter in Lubumbashi Congo and allegedly returned to Tanzania alone.

Nobody is however sure if the lady did indeed return to Tanzania or was also lost in the DR Congo.

Located in the south-eastern parts of the Democratic Republic of Congo, along the border with Zambia, Lubumbashi happens to be the second largest city in, after Kinshasa.

Abandoned and lost, the innocent girl was literally shocked and helpless when her mother simply disappeared without trace.

But as luck would have it, Vivian was later picked up by good Samaritans who took her to the nearby Orthodox Church located in the Luashi division of Lubumbashi.

As far as the story goes, the girl was brought up by the church until her adulthood.

Right now, Vivian Mhagama is a mother of two children, married and still living in the South-East DR Congo region of Lubumbashi.

The lady is yearning to be connected with her family in Tanzania.

It is now 15 years since Vivian left the country as a child, but believes her family should be living in Dar-es-salaam. That is in case they are still together and have not relocated elsewhere in Tanzania.

Vivian says her father, if still alive, goes by the name of Hussein Mvungi. She also remembers to have had a younger brother called Abdulrahman Mvungi, age unknown.

Those with any information about the family of Vivian Mhagama or Hussein Mvungi and his wife Irene of Dar-es-Salaam should contact the Tanzanian consulate in Lubumbashi via these phone numbers:
