Coca-Cola Beverages Africa has been certified as a Top Employer on the continent for the year 2025.
The certification, according to an official report from Johannesburg, is based on the results of the Top Employers Institute’s Human Resources Best Practices Survey.
From the above ranking, Coca-Cola Beverages Africa (CCBA) was certified as a leading Employer in Africa, and its operations in Ethiopia, South Africa, Tanzania and Uganda achieved this accolade at country level.
“We have a people-first culture that ensures unparalleled professional development for our valued employees,” said Natasa Prodanovic the Chief People and Culture Officer at Coca-Cola Beverage Africa.
With over 18,000 employees in Africa, CCBA services more than 720,000 customers with a host of international and local brands.
“Our aim is to nurture potential, attract and retain high-performing talent, and invest in growth,” added Prodanovic, insisting that CCBA’s continued market success and status as the largest bottler of beloved Coca-Cola brands on the continent are other key differentiators.
“We empower individuals to thrive and our certification as a Top Employer reflects the strength of our commitment to being an employer of choice for professionals with a desire to learn and grow.
“Our people are driven to make an impact, are passionate about learning and committed to caring for others,” explained the Coca-Cola People and Cultural officer who took time to congratulate the company leaders and working colleagues, thanking them for making the recognition possible.
CCBA is the 8th largest Coca-Cola bottling partner in the world by revenue, and the largest on the continent.
Coca-Cola Beverage Africa accounts for over 40 percent of all Coca-Cola products sold in Africa by volume.
In Tanzania, Coca-Cola operates through Kwanza Bottlers which have firms in Mbeya and Dar-es-Salaam, Bonite Bottlers in Kilimanjaro serving the Northern Zone and Nyanza Bottling Company covering the Lake Victoria Zone Regions.
Apart from the flagship beverage, Coca-Cola products in Tanzania and East Africa include Dasani Bottled Water, Kilimanjaro Spring Water, Krest (Bitter Lemon, Ginger Ale, Tonic and Soda Water) Fanta, Sprite and Minute Maid juice brand.
The Coca Cola Beverages Africa group was formed in July 2016 after the successful combination of the southern and east Africa bottling operations of the non-alcoholic ready-to-drink beverages businesses of The Coca-Cola Company, SABMiller plc and Gutsche Family Investments.
CCBA shareholders are the Coca-Cola Company (66.5 Percent) and Gutsche Family Investments (33.5Percent).
CCBA operates in 15 countries, including its six key markets of South Africa, Kenya, Ethiopia, Uganda, Mozambique and Namibia, as well as Tanzania, Botswana, Ghana, Zambia, the islands of Comoros and Mayotte, Eswatini, Lesotho, and Malawi.
The company’s closest competition in Tanzania and East Africa is Pepsi, even though of late there have been myriads of cheap, localized beverage knock-offs, some even carrying the ‘Cola’ moniker trying to grab larger pieces of the market share from the legendary giants.
