Tanzania has been placed at Number Six on the Travel and Tour World list of top ten African Countries that happen to be the ‘Best Travel Destinations,’ in the year 2025.
The country’s main selling points this year, according to the Travel and Tour World (TTW) rankings, include the Serengeti National Park; Ngorongoro Crater; and the Old Stone Town in the Zanzibar Isles.
Tanzania being slotted on the sixth position by TTW stands behind Kenya, at number five, Botswana ranking fourth and Egypt which takes the third position.
But on a higher scale, Tanzania remains the global leading travel destination as per the World Tourism Award (WTA) whose international voters also listed the country as Number One in Africa.
But the new Travel and Tour World recommendation listing of 2025 seems to have a different idea altogether.
Topping the bill in the Travel and Tour World (TTW) listing is South Africa, featuring the Table Mountain and Robben Island, both in Cape Town, as well as the famous Kruger National Park
Mauritius comes second with destinations such as Le Morne Brabant; Chamarel Seven Colored Earths; and Black River Gorges National Park.
Egypt still offers the Pyramids of Giza and the Sphinx; Valley of the Kings, Luxor and Abu Simbel Temples.
Botswana banks on the highly trodden Okavango Delta; Chobe National Park and Makgadikgadi Pans
Kenya relies heavily on Maasai Mara National Reserve, which borders Tanzania’s Serengeti, the Amboseli National Park on the leeward side of Mount Kilimanjaro and Diani Beach.
Morocco is listed at Number Seven in the new ranking, with the Marrakech Medina; Atlas Mountains; and the Sahara Desert being the country’s best offerings.
Tunisia is listed at number eight with its Carthage Ruins; El Jem Amphitheater and Hammamet Beaches.
Namibia is slotted in the ninth position with Sossusvlei; Etosha National Park and Skeleton Coast
Rwanda the only other East African country on the list, closes the Travel and Tour World’s top ten ranking with its Volcanoes National Park: Kigali Genocide Memorial and Lake Kivu.
The Travel and Tourism market on the African continent is projected to generate a revenue of USD 25.16 billion by 2025, According to Statista.
That comes with an expected annual growth rate of 7.45 percent, bringing the market volume to USD 33.54 billion by 2029.
The list above comprises African countries that have been evaluated by Travel and Tour World (TTW) and recognized as top destinations for leisure travelers in 2025.
