Luxury Cruise Ships that are sailing towards Tanzania waters in 2025

Two luxury ships are expected to dock at the Dar-es-salaam Port in Tanzania, shortly after the New Year 2025 kicks in.

Seabourn Sojourn is the first to call port on the first week of January while Ms Europa sails in the second week of February 2025.

Having departed from Spain last November 2024, the 450-passenger cruiser, Seabourn Sojourn is currently hitting waters circumnavigating the African Continent and taking guests to 44 ports in 26 countries over the course of three months.

The voyage hooted off in Barcelona, and then crossed the Mediterranean Sea, stopping in a few North Africa and Middle East destinations, including Egypt and Israel, then traversing the Suez Canal and heading Seychelles on the Indian Ocean.

Seabourn then takes course south towards the East African coast that includes the Mombasa harbor of Kenya and arrives at the Dar-es-salaam Port on the Tanzanian shoreline on the 8th of January 2025.

From Tanzania the ship cruises to Madagascar before returning to the coast and sailing onto South Africa.

Sojourn then heads northward along West Africa’s coast, which includes a detour to the islands of Cabo Verde, before the ship’s final leg through the Strait of Gibraltar taking the guests back to Barcelona.

MS Europa, another luxury Cruise Ship carrying 408 passengers in its 204 cabins for the 2025 voyage, is expected to call port in Dar-es-salaam on the day after Valentines’ Day, which is 15th of February 2025.

Peter Greenberg, the producer and host of the travel documentary ‘Tanzania: The Royal Tour,’ reviewed and recommended MS Europa during his December 2024 CBS programs.

MS Europa is the flagship of Hapag-Lloyd Cruises.

The main selling point of the ship is its variety of food. The cruiser boasts several restaurants on board; the Europa Restaurant serves regional dishes from the country where the ship is docked.

So, does that mean the guests aboard Europa will be sampling Ugali, Rice and Beans or Pilau once the ship drops anchor along the Dar-es-salaam shoreline?

Anyway, after departing from Tanzania waters, MS Europa will continue to cruise around the globe, but already listing in its itinerary the return to Dar-es-salaam next year, on the 11th of January 2026.

That is, if all goes well.

The information here was obtained from cruise port calendar 2025 which provides the latest list of cruise ships that are scheduled to arrive at Dar-es-salaam port with detailed information, including date and time of arrival and departure, and maximum passenger capacity for each vessel.

In December 2024, Tanzania saw the arrival of the Oceania Riviera Ship with 1,258 passengers which called on both Zanzibar and Dar-es-salaam ports.
