Hello! Lionel Richie is now penning his own autobiography

Lionel Richie, the King of Mushy Love Songs is teasing his own autobiography.

On his Instagram Page recently, the man behind hits like Hello, Dancing on the Ceiling, Ballerina Girl and Deep River Woman who started out as part of the Music Group, The Commodores wants to try his hand in writing a book as well.

Though he only performed in South Africa on the continent, Lionel Richie is popular in East Africa especially Kenya, Uganda and Tanzania, where his hit ‘All Night Long,’ is a household tune especially its Kiswahili adlib, ‘Jambo Nipe Senti Moja!’

And now the Penny Lover singer is clutching a pen ready for what he describes to be ‘A soaring Celebration of His Life and Legendary Career!’ under the title, ‘Lionel Richie announces New Memoir.

“Lionel Richie has a lot of credits to his name and now he is adding ‘Author’ to the list,” reads part of the Instagram Post.

But the proposed book is yet to be given a title. It is also not known if Lionel Richie is actually writing the book himself or he has hired a ghost writer.

“The Grammy, Oscar and Golden Globe winning star’s new book promises to be an intimate, deeply candid memoir, detailing Lionel Richie’s dramatic transformation into a world class entertainer, albeit on the romantic songs side.”

The post goes on to reveal that ‘Along with the darkest period,’ when Richie recounts how he barely survived his father’s death, two difficult divorces and more.

Lionel Richie was born in Tuskegee, Alabama on June 20, 1949.

The singer is the son of Lionel Brockman Richie who used to be a United States Army systems analyst.

Richie’s Mother Alberta R. Foster was a teacher and school principal.

Lionel must have inherited his music traits from his grandmother Adelaide Mary Brown who used to be a pianist specializing in playing classical tunes.

Most pop stars are currently penning and churning out autobiographies with the latest one in the market being Rick Astley’s ‘Never.’
