Africa Tourism Ministers, Global Investors, for UNWTO Event in Tanzania 2022

All roads will be leading to Arusha next year, when Tanzania gets to host famous global investors in travel and tourism industries, as well as 54 Ministers of Tourism from all African Countries.

Together with hundreds of other delegates, the envoys will be attending the 65th United Nations World Tourism Organization (UNWTO) Commission for Africa Meeting, in October 2022. Tanzania plays host.

According to the Tanzania Embassy in Paris, France, the decision to endorse Tanzania’s candidature to host the 65th session was passed during the 64th meeting of the UNWTO commission for Africa held in Sal Island, Cabo Verde, in September 2021.

So, come next year, a total of 54 Ministers of Tourism from African countries and other potential stakeholders in the industry, including famous global investors in tourism will be converging in Arusha, Tanzania’s Tourism Capital for the event.  

UNWTO Commission for Africa Meeting 2022 is expected to foster Tanzania’s tourism industry and highly promote the country’s destinations such as the Serengeti National Park, Ngorongoro Crater, Lake Manyara and Mount Kilimanjaro.

Tanzania’s delegation, which represented the country to the 64th UNWTO Commission for Africa meeting in Cape Verde, was led by Dr Damas Ndumbaro, the Minister of Natural Resources and Tourism.

In addition to being endorsed to host the 65th session of the commission, Tanzania was also elected to be a member of the Program and Budget Committee (PBC).
